PostJoint review

If you are one of those bloggers who are considering joining Postjoint then think again. You might be sleepwalking into a Google Penalty. Google clearly states that you shouldn't be accepting money for links. These people over at PostJoint are claiming that guest posts and paid or sponsored posts are two different things but in reality, they are the same thing – just the terminology is different. Google clearly states that talking money for links is not acceptable to them. Unless you don’t care about traffic from Google then it might be OK to join this site.

List of content curation sites

There is so much information out there that its getting difficult to keep track of things. This is where content curation sites comes in. However, some bloggers are using these content curation sites to curate their own content for backlinks. But ideally, it should be used wisely not just for your own links but to collect a list of other people's blog posts so that you can get back to them and comment or see what's happening in your niche. These sites will allow you to create an active social presence on multiple social networks and media sites. It makes sense to create a kind of socal hub. It's all about finding, collecting, organising and then sharing the relevant content with your brand and niche's audience.

Link earning in SEO

This is an interesting article on SEOMOZ posted by Randfish. He describes that SEO link building is dead and hence those trying to acquire links as a means to build ranking will no longer be counted and even be penalised. So what does this mean as far as building links are concerned. It means that, try not to build links but try to earn your links. What this means is that, earning links that will bring you relevant traffic. This means, no more anchor texts, no more directory submissions, link exchanges  reciprocal links, buying links but instead you need good links that you have earned.

So what constitutes of earning links? They mean social sharing. For instance if a visitor is on your site and likes your content, they will share and if its that good then it will get more shares and eventually magnified. So you have earned links.

Earn links directly by content, this means that the content is so good that people want to link to you, embed your story, write about it, blog about it and refer you to others. Again you have earned links. A link from a powerful site from your own industry is worth hundreds of article directory submissions.
